How Long Does HDPE Pipe Last
The typical benchmark for HDPE life expectancy is 50 years; however, according to the Plastics Piping Institute, HDPE pipes used in municipal drinking water systems can have a life expectancy of over 100 years. HDPE pipes have a better service life than other traditional pipe materials such as copper (40-75 year life), cast iron (50-75 years) and galvanised steel (30-50 years).
